TUTORIAL 3DS MAX- create low-poly character with bodymixer

this tutorial need maxscript bodymixer, you can find it at google, this tutorial test on 3ds max 7, ok let's start.

1. open 3ds max and click on menu maxscript and choose run script, select bodymixer.

2. Go to utility panel-click maxscript, on dropdown list choose bodymixer-click balingsic.

3. arrange size of arm, head, chest, neval, thight and other part of body. If you complete setting that right click on object and choose convert to- click convert to editable poly.

3. Go to modifier panel- expand symbol + and choose edge mode, scroll downl edge scroll menu and choose slice plane, on menubar choose select and move, and move up slice plane near waist, on the edge menu choose cut.

4. Move up slice plane near chest, on menu bar choose select and rotate, rotate slice plane about 90 dagree and move to left hand slice plane again and cut,

5. Move to differnt hand and choose cut, and how to rotate slice plane near neck, and cut.

6. Move down in part thigh cut again look like this:

7. On the edge scrollbar turn off slice plane and turn on cut, in viewport part neck object, cut around neck.
if complete swicht edge mode to vertex mode.

8. In the viewport drag cursornear arm like this:

on menu bar choose select and move or right click an object and choose move, move the selected vertex near the left vertex of the selected vertex. On menu bar click select and scale. scale the vertex like this.

do this steps to other arm, waist, neck and foot.

9. To add hair use technique cut, step by step like this:

10. If you finished cut edge for make hair, now swicht to poly mode, select the polygon on cutted edge, on poly scroll menu choose bevel, in viewport drag up at selected polygon and make little outline like this:

11. You have problem? i know, the hair not correct extrude but move up, don't worry now in menu bar choose select and move, move polygon down to start position, right click and choose scale, scale all the hair. the result like this:

12. OK next, go to vertex mode and choose vertex an part this.

13. Go to left viewport, on menubar move vertex arround x exist, and move down arround z exist, like this.

14. the lowpoly character for game is complete.

15. to add texture you can open skin character on this page, save this image to your hardisk.

16. In material editor select unused material in diffuse colour
click gray rictangle, choose bitmap, browse the character skin and click open, drag material to object...
